Kouri Allen

Dr. Kouri Allen recently wrapped up his fifth full season as the head coach of the Coastal Alabama South Men's and Women's Tennis programs in Bay Minette, Ala. and will be entering his sixth season at the helm in 2025-26. During the 2024-25 athletic season, Coach Allen surpassed 100 career wins with Coastal Alabama and led the programs back to the NJCAA Tennis National Championships, where both teams placed in the top 20 nationally. The men's team finished a program-best 13th overall. Additionally, both teams finished the season ranked inside the ITA NJCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Top 25 Rankings, with the men's team finishing at No. 15 in the poll and the women's team ending the year at No. 17.

Following the successful season in 2025, Coach Allen was named the ACCC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year during the 2025 campaign, leading his Coyotes to a 7-2 ACCC record. In addition, Allen was honored nationally as the ITA National Women's Tennis Coach of the Year and was presented the NJCAA Herschel Stephens Coaching Award, which is awarded each year to a head coach who has made three trips to the NJCAA National Championships in a five-year period. 

Under Coach Allen’s guidance, the Yotes have excelled on and off the court as the programs have been recognized for their academic excellence and community service. In 2025, 15 players across both teams made the ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the spring term, one year after seeing 16 members honored in the ACCC. Coastal Alabama South Women's Tennis member Mya Schaffer was honored with the National Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award for ITA Women's Tennis. In 2023, Coach Allen led both teams to earn the ITA Community Service Awards for Region IV.

A native of Jackson, Alabama, Coach Allen competed for the Faulkner State Sun Chiefs Men's Tennis team from 2006-2008, earning a bid to the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship in Plano, TX in 2008. Coach Allen holds a Doctor of Education in higher education administration from the University of Alabama, a Master of Arts degree in American history from the University of South Alabama, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montevallo (Ala.), and two associates degrees from Faulkner State Community College (now Coastal Alabama Community College). In addition to coaching, Coach Allen serves as the president of the NJCAA Women’s Coaches Association, is a board member of the Gulf Coast Tennis Association, and he enjoys volunteering with Dream Court-Daphne. He is married to Dr. Amanda Allen, and they have six children.
