Coach Cassidy Harding Goodwin has been on staff as either a player, an assistant, or as a Head Coach since 2016. A Coastal Cheer alumnus (2016-2018), she transferred to South Alabama where she continued to cheer for one season. While juggling school and being a NCAA athlete, she also remained on staff in Bay Minette as an Assistant Coach. Upon graduation in 2020, Coach Goodwin took charge of the Coastal Alabama South Cheer program. Since then, she has lead the program to numerous Top 5 finishes and three Top 3 finishes at the UCA College Nationals. Coach Goodwin has also been actively involved in FCA as a student and now as a Coach.
Goodwin earned her Bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing Management from South Alabama in 2020 and her Associate's degree in Business Administration from Coastal Alabama Community College in 2018. As a student she was elected Coastal Alabama's SGA President, she was a Phi Theta Kappa honor society member, and she maintained a 3.75+ GPA throughout her college career. As an athlete she was also a 6x UCA All-American selection. Outside of her playing/coaching career, she was a former Universal Cheerleaders Association staffer from 2017-2020 and continued to work as an event staffer for Varsity since 2017.
Since joining the coaching staff in 2018, 34 of the athletes she has coached have gone on to cheer at the next level; six of which have gone on to compete for Team USA. The six athletes went on to compete and represent our country in the International Cheer Union World Cheerleading Championships.
A native of Gardendale, Ala., Cassidy is married to her high school sweetheart and former college baseball player, Taylor. She and Taylor welcomed their first child in November of 2024.
