David Haney joins Coastal Alabama Community College as a marketing specialist in March 2025, being based on the Monroeville campus. Haney's duties include coverage for all Coastal Alabama Athletic programs, while managing the official Coastal Alabama South / North Athletics social media channels and athletic websites.

Prior to Coastal Alabama

Haney spent six seasons at the University of Mobile as Director of Sports Information where he redesigned the athletics website through a partnership with SIDEARM Sports, incorporated play-by-play broadcasting to each home broadcast in which he was the voice behind the mic on most occasions, and was the primary contact to partnerships with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), PrestoStats, and BoxOut Sports. Haney was named the 2022-23 Southern States Athletic Conference Sports Information Director of the Year recipient.

Before his time at the University of Mobile, Haney spent three seasons working full-time in the front office as the promotions coordinator, social media manager, and as the Voice of Hank Aaron Stadium for the Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball Club, a former AA Minor League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, and Los Angeles Angels.

About Him

The 31-year-old was born in New London, Connecticut, but spent the majority of his life in the Mobile, Alabama area. He graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School in Semmes, Ala. and then spent 5 1/2 years traveling nationally and internationally as a member of the University of Mobile's RamCorps, a high-impact brass, percussion, and occasional vocal ensemble while receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice in 2016.

During his free time, Haney enjoys spending time with family and loved ones. He also enjoys the outdoors and watching sports. Haney is an avid Major League Baseball fan, supporting the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also owns a family-ran side hobby with his Father, Curt Haney, called H.I.S.S. (Haney's Independent Snake Studies), a no-kill snake relocation, educational, and rehabilitation service for wild venomous and non-venomous snakes.

David is married to wife Haley Ikner Haney, a native of Monroeville, Ala. The two are in the process of moving to Monroeville with their first child, a baby girl (Adaline Grace) who they welcomed in October of 2024, and with their three cats, Moe, Mae, and Missy.
