After recently moving to Foley, Ala. this past June from Boulder, Co., Mia McCallum joins the Coastal Alabama Athletic Department as assistant coach of the Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball program in Bay Minette, Ala.
McCallum lived in Boulder, Co. for nine years, but grew up in the Baldwin County, Ala. area prior. McCallum was a head, assistant, and private coach for a travel club called NORCO for around five years founded by Cathy Mahaffey, and started a boys’ volleyball team for Centaurus High School alongside Lester Thorne in 2022 that continues to remain active.
McCallum has a passion for the sport of volleyball and eagerness to learn. After she moved back to Alabama this past year, she served as head and private coach for Eastern Shore Volleyball Club in Daphne, Ala. and Pleasure Island Volleyball Club in Gulf Shores, Ala.
