JACK ROBERTSON ARENA | BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Volleyball dropped the second matchup of the 2026 Yotes Series on Monday, Oct. 19, falling to Coastal Alabama - North in straight sets, 3-0, in ACCC action in Bay Minette.
The Coyotes (8-17, 4-7 ACCC) fell by scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-14 as Coastal - North completed a 2-0 sweep of the season series. Coastal - North also claimed the opening matchup on Sept. 16 in Brewton, Ala.
Coastal - South showed its strongest fight in the second set, recording nine kills and keeping the contest within reach before Coastal - North edged ahead, 25-23. However, the Coyotes out of Brewtonb, Ala. pulled away in the third set to close out the match.
Anna Musgrove guided Coastal - South's offensive efforts with 25 assists while adding 11 digs and three service aces. Lyric Thompson paced the Coyotes with seven kills, adding three digs and three block assists.
Ella Kyker contributed six kills, while Daeya Williams provided an efficient spark offensively, recording four kills without an error on five attempts for a .800 hitting percentage. Williams also added two digs and a block assist.
Coastal - South's defensive effort was led by Musgrove's 11 digs. McKenna Jackson contributed seven digs, while libero Anna Claire Hilburn added seven digs and Wendy Reyes Duenas finished with six. Brooklyn Wild also recorded six digs.
As a team, Coastal - South recorded 28 kills on 116 attempts with 24 errors, finishing with a .034 hitting percentage. The Coyotes collected 55 digs and seven service aces while totaling 10 block assists.
Despite the setback, Coastal - South will look to regroup and build on its efforts as the team continues its conference schedule on Tuesday evening at home.
Quick Turnaround in Bay Minette
Coastal Alabama - South will be back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 20, hosting the Boll Weevils of Enterprise State (Ala.) at 5:00 p.m. CT in ACCC action. Tuesday's match will be played inside Jack Robertson Arena in Bay Minette.
