EVERGREEN, Ala. – Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball cruised past Reid State Tech (Ala.) in straight sets (25-16, 25-21, 25-8) over the weekend, securing a dominant conference road victory on Sept. 12. The Coyotes, now 4-11 on the season, set the tone early with a balanced offensive attack and never looked back for the team's first conference win of the season.
With the team hitting a solid .238 throughout the match, Ella Kyker was dominant offensively and led the way with 13 kills on a .300 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, Haley Bingert added six kills on an impressive .750 efficiency and Anique Self chipped in six kills and three aces to round out a well-rounded performance.
Setter Anna Musgrove paced the offense with 18 assists and added seven digs, while Mariah Mayes turned in a strong two-way performance with a team-high 12 digs and three service aces. Defensively, the Coyotes collected 53 total digs, frustrating the Lions at the net and holding Reid State to a .020 hitting percentage across three sets played.
The win came in dominant fashion, capped by a 25-8 third-set rout where Coastal Alabama - South hit .462 as a team.
Coastal Versus Coastal
Coastal Alabama - South is back in action at home in Bay Minette on Wednesday, Sept. 17 as the Coyotes host their counterpart in Coastal Alabama - North. Wednesday's matchup is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted live on JockJive.com.
