GREENVILLE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Men's Golf came up just short of claiming the team title at the LBW Saints Invitational on Oct. 19-20, finishing second overall in the two-round tournament, just one stroke behind eventual champion Wallace Community College - Dothan.
Competing against nine other teams on the par-72 course, the Coyotes finished at 31-over-par (607), carding a 302 (+14) in the opening round before posting a 305 (+17) in the final round. Despite the challenging second round, Coastal - South mounted a late charge in pursuit of the team championship but ultimately fell one stroke shy of the top spot.
The Coyotes showcased depth throughout the tournament, placing three golfers inside the top 10 of the individual standings.
First-year Coyote Braden Duvall led the way, finishing second overall at 3-over-par. Duvall delivered a strong final-round performance, climbing four spots on the leaderboard to secure the runner-up finish and lead Coastal Alabama - South individually.
Shane Burns and Bryson Clark also turned in solid performances, tying for 10th overall at 9-over-par. Burns made one of the tournament's biggest moves on the final day, climbing 12 spots to earn his top-10 finish and help fuel the Coyotes' push toward the team title.
Judah Talley entered the final round in second place individually at 2-over-par following an impressive opening round. However, an 8-over-par second round dropped Talley seven positions into a tie for 13th at +10. Talley nearly helped spark a late rally down the stretch, but fortune was not on his side as he narrowly missed three consecutive birdie putts on holes 16, 17 and 18.
Coastal's final entrant Kallaway Soto was forced to withdraw during the opening round.
Despite narrowly missing out on the team title, Coastal - South demonstrated its competitiveness against a 10-team field and secured the best finish to date during the 2026-27 season.
