BAY MINETTE, Ala. – The Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball team managed to get back into the win column on Friday evening, Oct. 3, sweeping Wallace - Selma for the second time this season with a decisive 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-13, 25-18). The overall record improves to 8-15 this season following the sweep, with the conference record improving to 4-6. Meanwhile, Wallace - Selma remains winless on the year.
By The Numbers
The Coyotes' offense was efficient, hitting .250 as a team while limiting the Patriots to a negative hitting percentage. Ella Kyker led the way at the net with 12 kills on .500 hitting, while Anique Self contributed four kills and four service aces. For Kyker, the first-year Coyote just recently surpassed 200 kills on the season.
Anna Musgrove ran a crisp offense, dishing out 19 assists to go along with five aces and five digs. Meanwhile, Elizabeth McMillan added four kills and four block assists, and Wendy Reyes Duenas chipped in two kills and three block assists. On the defensive side, Harper Cooley anchored the back row with a team-high 10 digs, helping hold Wallace - Selma to just 14 total kills on the night.
The victory marks Coastal - South's second straight sweep of Wallace - Selma this season, helping the Coyotes in conference play. The Yotes improve their rhythm heading into the next stretch of matches as they look to continue building momentum down the stretch.
Coastal Versus Coastal Part Two
The Coastal - South Coyotes are set to meet counterpart Coastal - North in the next match on the schedule, coming on Wednesday evening, Oct. 8 in Brewton, Ala. Wednesday's matchup is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be the second time this season the Coyotes go to battle.
Coastal - South came away with a thrilling five-set win in Bay Minette in the first meeting of the 2025 campaign as the Yotes from Bay Minette look for the regular season sweep.
