Three Road Games, Three Road Wins for Coastal Alabama - South to Begin 2025-26 Season

ANDALUSIA, Ala. – The Coastal Alabama - South Women's Basketball team remained perfect to open the 2025-26 season, improving to 3-0 under head coach Cedric Yelding with a 67-61 road win over Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (Ala.) on Thursday evening, Nov. 6. The Coyotes opened the year with wins at Coastal Alabama - North and Enterprise State (Ala.) ahead of Thursday's matchup with LBW, and are set for the first home game on the season on Monday, Nov. 10.

Strong Team Effort on the Boards Leads to Win

The Coyotes used a dominant rebounding performance to secure the victory over the Saints, out-rebounding LBW by an impressive 50-24 margin. Naomi Whack and Kalaysia Robinson combined for 28 rebounds in the win, with both players leading the Yotes with 14 rebounds each. Robinson added nine points, while Whack tallied eight points as both players flirted with double-doubles. Shamiya Oliver joined the double-digit rebound party, finishing with 10 in the victory.

Guard Kennedy Gill paced the Coyotes offensively with 15 points, going 5-of-11 from the floor and adding five free throws. Shakira Williams provided key energy on both ends with eight points, four steals, and two assists, while Monica Whack added six points and Marlee Sullivan chipped in four points and four steals off the bench.

Coastal - South trailed 17-15 after the opening quarter but flipped momentum by holding the Saints to just 11 points in both the second and third quarters, building a lead they would not relinquish. The Coyotes weathered a late push from LBW, who scored 22 in the fourth quarter, to close out the road win.

The Coyotes shot 43.3 percent from the field and forced 29 turnovers while pulling down 18 offensive rebounds. Coastal Alabama - South has now held all three opponents under 70 points this season, continuing its defensive identity to start the year.
