Box Score JACK ROBERTSON ARENA | BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Volleyball battled conference rival Bishop State (Ala.) at home on Tuesday evening, Oct. 6, with the Coyotes being unable to overcome the Wildcats in a three-set setback, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.
The loss drops Coastal Alabama - South to 7-14 overall on the season and 3-5 in Alabama Community College Conference play. The Coyotes currently sit fifth in the ACCC standings.
Coastal - South remained competitive throughout the match, with all three sets decided by five points or fewer. The Coyotes came within two points of taking the opening set before Bishop State closed out the frame, 25-23. The Wildcats carried the momentum into the second set, earning a 25-20 victory, before finishing the match with a 25-22 decision in the third set.
Ella Kyker led the Coyotes offensively with 12 kills on 23 attacks, posting a .391 hitting percentage. Elizabeth McMillan added eight kills on 10 attempts while hitting a team-best .700 for the match.
Brooklyn Wild also recorded eight kills, while Anique Self contributed three kills and Lyric Thompson added two. Anna Musgrove directed the offense with 32 assists while also recording seven digs and one service ace.
Defensively, the duo-libero threat of McKenna Jackson and Kaylee Worrell combined for 11 digs, while Sophia Gress joined Worrell in pacing the defensive effort with eight digs apiece. Worrell also recorded a service ace, while Gress added an ace of her own. Wendy Reyes Duenas finished with five digs.

The Coyotes have a quick turnaround and return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 7 traveling to Andalusia, Ala. for a matchup against No. 18 Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (Ala.) at 5:00 p.m. CT.
