BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball made quick work of Reid State Technical College (Ala.) on Monday evening, Oct. 13, cruising to a straight-set sweep (25-19, 25-13, 25-10) at Jack Robertson Arena in Bay Minette. The Coyotes notched their 10th win of the 2025 season following Monday's action, with the overall record improving to 10-17 on the season. In the ACCC, Coastal - South currently sits fifth in the south division standings with a 5-6 conference record.
Yotes Strong in Win
The Yotes controlled the match from start to finish, hitting an impressive .256 as a team while holding Reid State in check offensively. Standout Ella Kyker led the offensive charge with 12 kills on a .455 hitting percentage, adding a solo block to her performance. Zion Paden followed with six kills on .444 hitting, while Anique Self chipped in four kills and four digs. Setter Anna Musgrove efficiently guided the attack with 20 assists, four digs, and one service ace. Fellow setter Maggie Shorter added 14 assists and two aces of her own as the Coyotes' offense found its rhythm early and never looked back.
Meanwhile, Mariah Mayes made a strong impact behind the service line, delivering a match-high five aces to go along with three kills and two digs. Aleah Pickett also contributed three kills, one ace, and a block assist. Defensively, Coastal - South was anchored by a balanced effort that saw 23 total digs and five team blocks, led by Kyker and Paden at the net.
The victory puts the Coyotes back in the win column following a small two-match slide which saw Coastal - South fall to Coastal - North and Bishop State in the last two matches played. The win is a confident tune-up before returning to play later this week.
Non-Conference Action Ahead
The Coyotes are scheduled for a non-conference road matchup next on the schedule, coming on Wednesday evening, Oct. 15 in Pace, Fla. Coastal - South will face John Melvin University (Fla.) in the non-conference meetup, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT. The Yotes lost to John Melvin in five sets back on Sept. 10 of this season.Â
