PACE, Fla. – Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball picked up a strong 3-1 road victory over John Melvin Christian College (Fla.) on Wednesday night, Oct. 15, winning by set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, and 25-21. The two teams split the home-and-home series during the 2025 campaign after John Melvin managed a five-set win in Bay Minette in early September.
The win for the Coyotes is the second-straight as Coastal - South improves 11-17 this season with just three matches remaining during the regular season.
Offense Sees Season-High Performances
The Yotes' strong attack featured standout efforts from multiple hitters. Elizabeth McMillan led the way with a season-high 17 kills while hitting .238 and adding four block assists to her breakout performance. Zion Paden followed closely behind with 14 kills, also a season-high, and collected two blocks. Meanwhile, Anique Self posted a .357 hitting percentage with five kills and a team-best 15 digs. Setter Anna Musgrove was impressive all around, dishing out 21 assists to go along with six digs and three kills on a perfect hitting line (3-for-3). Fellow setter Maggie Shorter contributed 20 assists and nine digs as Coastal - South's offense clicked efficiently, posting a .218 team hitting percentage.
Defensively, Sophie Sanchez joined Self in double figures in digs, helping anchor the back row with 10 digs on the night. Kameryn Browne added seven digs and a block assist on the front line as the Coyotes came away 10 total block assists as a team and 68 digs throughout the four sets played.
With the win, Coastal Alabama - South looks to finish the 2025 campaign strong as the team sits just outside the top four in the current ACCC Volleyball South Division standings.

Bevill State (Ala.) comes to town next on the schedule for Coastal Alabama - South, scheduled for Friday afternoon, Oct. 17 at 4:00 p.m. CT. Friday's match will be played in Jack Robertson Arena in Bay Minette, Ala.
