Coyotes Improve to 2-0 Following Road Victory at Enterprise State

Strong Second Half Carries Coastal Alabama - South Women's Basketball to Win on Tuesday

Box Score ENTERPRISE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Women's Basketball team improved to 2-0 on Tuesday evening, Nov. 4, defeating Enterprise State (Ala.) in a non-conference battle. The win starts the young season strong for the Coyotes, with both wins coming on the road against ACCC Division II opponents.  

Balance Performance Fuels Win

The Coyotes put together one of their most complete efforts of the early season, shooting 41.5 percent from the field while holding Enterprise State to under 35 percent. Fourteen players saw action in the win for Coastal - South, with ten contributing points as the depth proved to be the difference. In the second half alone, Coastal - South outscored Enterprise State 41-29 to put the game away. 

Coastal - South's defense set the tone early, forcing 26 Enterprise State turnovers and converting them into transition opportunities throughout the night. The Coyotes also controlled the glass, out-rebounding the Boll Weevils 50-33, including 17 offensive boards that resulted in second chance points. 

Shakira Williams led Coastal - South with 12 points from off the bench, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line while adding five rebounds, four steals, and an assist. Meanwhile, starter Brooklyn Phillips added 10 points and six rebounds, including two of the Yotes' four made three-pointers. Baileigh Lett provided a spark off the bench with eight points on 3-of-4 shooting, while Tyra Caves chipped in seven points, three rebounds, and two assists. Naomi Whack and Cniya Mullen each added six points in the effort, with Whack also pulling down six rebounds.

The Coyotes' frontcourt trio of Kalaysia Robinson, Shamiya Oliver, and Marlee Sullivan combined for 17 rebounds, helping Coastal - South maintain control in the paint throughout the contest. Robinson led the group with seven boards, while Oliver added five points, five rebounds, and two blocks in just 10 minutes of action.

Coastal Alabama – South is set for one more road game to begin the 2025-26 campaign, coming against the third consecutive ACCC D-II team in Lurleen B. Wallace (Ala.). The Coyotes are set to face LBW on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m. CT in Andalusia, Ala.
