BAY MINETTE, Ala. – Coastal Alabama - South Women's Volleyball battled early but ultimately fell in straight sets to Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (Ala.) on Thursday evening, Sept. 18, with set scores finishing at 23-25, 23-25, 12-25 in Bay Minette. The overall record falls to 5-12 on the year, with the ACCC record dropping below .500 at 2-3.
How It Happened
The Coyotes nearly stole the opening two sets, pushing LBW to the brink in back-to-back 25-23 decisions, but the Saints closed the match with a dominant third set to earn the sweep.
Anna Musgrove was a bright spot for Coastal - South, tallying five kills on an efficient .625 hitting percentage to go along with a team-high 17 assists, 10 digs, and two service aces. Anique Self added four kills and 13 digs, while Wendy Reyes Duenas matched Musgrove with five kills and Sophie Sanchez matched Self with 13 digs.
Defensively, the Coyotes collected 60 digs as a team, led by Self and Sanchez. Maggie Shorter also chipped in six assists and two service aces. The offense finished the night with a .052 hitting percentage, totaling 25 kills on 116 attempts.

Coastal - South moves quickly to regroup as conference play continues on Friday evening, Sept. 19. The Yotes will host Gadsden State (Ala.) on Friday, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT in Jack Robertson Arena. Friday's match will be broadcasted on JockJive.com.
