CHEROKEE RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB - UNION GROVE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Men's Golf team concluded competition at the Chuck Kalanick Memorial this week, finishing 11th overall in a strong 18-team field. The Coyotes posted a team total of +69 across three rounds (305, 313, 315) after opening with a steady first-round score of +17. Coastal - South faced tough rounds in the middle of the tournament and carded +25 and +27 in the final two rounds. The event was eventually highlighted by Coastal Alabama - North, which claimed the team and individual titles.
The Coyotes were led by Judah Talley, who delivered the team's top performance with a +17 total and finishing 36th overall. Talley was steady throughout, highlighted by a strong opening round of 73 and closing round of 74 that helped him pace Coastal - South's lineup. Landen Savage followed closely behind by posting a +18 total, falling 14 spots on the final day with an 82 after shooting 76 across both the first and second rounds. Jacob Myrick finished behind Savage at +19, showing consistency across his rounds with several timely pars.
Zachary Smith contributed with a +24 score, grinding out key holes that provided needed depth to the team's total, while Austin Vilborg rounded out the lineup at +27, highlighted by stretches of clean golf and resilience on challenging holes.
Overall, the tournament provided valuable experience for a young Coastal - South squad competing against one of the toughest fields of the fall. The Coyotes will now turn their focus to their next event as they continue building momentum for the rest of the season.

Coastal - South Men's Golf is set for the ACCC Conference Preview next on the schedule. The conference showing is scheduled for Oct. 5-7 and will be played at the Cypress Lakes Golf Club in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
