Box Score JACK ROBERTSON ARENA | BAY MINETTE, ALA. - Coastal Alabama - South Women's Basketball delivered a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, Jan. 10, rolling past Delgado Community College (La.) 75-45 at home behind a new career-high outing from sophomore Tyra Caves. The victory marked Coastal - South's fifth consecutive win, improving the Coyotes to 11-2 on the season. Coastal - South has not suffered a loss since Dec. 8, continuing a strong stretch of play heading deeper into the schedule.
Caves Shines as 'Yotes Roll Past Dolphins
The Coyotes set the tone from the opening tip, building an 18-7 advantage after the first quarter and extending the lead to 27-13 at halftime. Coastal - South put the game out of reach in the third quarter, outscoring Delgado 27-14 to take a commanding 54-27 lead heading into the final period.  The 'Yotes closed out the contest with a 21-18 fourth frame to secure the 30-point victory and continue its winning momentum.
Tyra Caves poured in a game-high 26 points on an efficient 10-of-15 shooting from the floor in Saturday's win, knocking down two three-pointers and adding three steals to lead the Coyotes. The Jackson, Ala. native's scoring punch helped Coastal - South pull away early and never look back.
Brooklyn Phillips added 12 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field, while Kalaysia Robinson chipped in nine points and a team-high nine rebounds. Shamiya Oliver was active on the glass, finishing with 12 rebounds to go along with seven points, as Coastal - South totaled 40 rebounds in the game.
Offensively, the Coyotes shot 49.1%Â from the floor and 40%Â from three-point range, while forcing 20 turnovers and recording 21 steals on the defensive end.
Non-Conference Portion Slows Down
Coastal - South continues to close out non-conference action during the 2025-26 season on Monday evening in Bay Minette, hosting ACCC foe Lurleen B. Wallace (Ala.) in a non-divisional matchup. Monday's game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT in Jack Robertson Arena.
Following Monday's game, the Coyotes are set to begin conference play in the ACCC Division I on Jan. 15 at Gadsden State (Ala.).
