BREWTON, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Men's Golf team delivered a strong performance at the Coastal – North Spring Invitational that was held on Feb. 16-17 at the Juniper Creek Country Club in Brewton, highlighted by Judah Talley's individual tournament championship and a third-place team finish.
Judah Talley captured medalist honors with a two-round total of 144 (E), opening with an impressive 67 before carding a 77 in the second round to secure the top spot. His opening-round 67 set the tone for the tournament and proved to be the difference as he finished even-par overall to claim Coastal - South's first individual title of the season.
Jacob Myrick also turned in a solid performance, finishing tied for second with a 146 (+2). Myrick rebounded from a first-round 75 with a strong 71 in round two, one of the best scores of the final round, to move up the leaderboard and earn a podium finish.
Landen Savage and Jake Christian each finished tied for 38th with identical totals of 156 (+12). Savage posted rounds of 78-78, while Christian improved in round two with a 76 after opening with an 80. Shane Burns rounded out the Coyotes' lineup with a 157 (+13), finishing tied for 43rd after rounds of 76 and 81.
As a team, the Coyotes scored a 598, finishing 22 strokes above par.
Behind Talley's championship effort and Myrick's runner-up finish, Coastal Alabama - South's third place finish in a crowded, competitive field in Brewton is the best result of the year thus far for the team. The Coyotes will look to build on the momentum as the spring season continues.
LBW Spring Invite Ahead
The 'Yotes will return to the course on Mar. 2-3, competing at the LBW Spring Invitational at the RTJ Greenville Golf Course in Greenville, Ala.
