ANDALUSIA, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Volleyball went 1-3 at the LBW Crossover Tournament on Sept. 11-12 in Andalusia, Ala., earning its lone victory of the weekend with a four-set win over Central Alabama Community College on Friday afternoon.

Following the 1-3 showing, the Coyotes' overall record falls to 3-7 through 10 matches on the 2026 campaign.

Tournament Recap

The Coyotes opened the weekend Friday morning against Jones College (Miss.), falling in straight sets, 27-25, 25-15, 25-18.

Elizabeth McMillan led Coastal - South with five kills on 12 attacks while Chloe Collison and Katie Hasting finished with four kills apiece. Wendy Reyes Duenas directed the offense with 20 assists, filling in for starting setter Anna Musgrove who was unavailable for the Coyotes throughout the weekend tournament. 

The Coyotes bounced back in their second match of the tournament, overcoming Central Alabama CC for a 3-1 victory. After dropping the opening set 25-23, Coastal - South responded by winning three consecutive sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 to clinch the match win.

Anique Self powered the Coyotes offensively with a team-high 11 kills on 28 attacks, while Hasting and Brooklyn Wild contributed seven kills each. Daeya Williams posted five kills, and Zion Paden recorded four kills along with three total blocks.

Kaylee Worrell provided a strong defensive and serving performance with 15 digs and four service aces. Meanwhile, Reyes Duenas tallied 32 assists and 13 digs, while McKenna Jackson added five aces and four digs.

The next day, the Coyotes faced Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Miss.), falling 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-21.

Hasting paced the Coyotes with 12 kills while McMillan recorded nine kills and a .263 hitting percentage. Paden added five kills and two blocks, while Worrell collected a team-high 12 digs. Reyes Duenas finished with 29 assists in the defeat.

The Coyotes closed the tournament Saturday against Snead State (Ala.), dropping a four-set decision, 25-13, 25-10, 23-25, 25-7.

Katie Hasting again led the offensive attack with seven kills, while McMillan recorded six kills and three blocks. Chloe Collison added three kills on 15 attacks, and Self contributed four kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Anna Claire Hilburn led the defensive effort with 10 digs, followed by McKenna Jackson with nine.

Despite the 1-3 weekend and missing key pieces like Musgrove and offensive threat Ella Kyker, the Coyotes showed offensive production throughout the tournament.

Coastal - South will look to regroup following the tournament and continue its 2026 season with four consecutive road matches.

Back to Work Monday

The Coyotes are set to travel to Selma, Ala. for the next match on the schedule, coming on Monday, Sept. 14 against Wallace - Selma Community College. First serve of Monday's ACCC matchup is set for 5:00 p.m. CT.
