BAY MINETTE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Men's Basketball program has announced its 2026-27 schedule, highlighted by a season-opening home matchup on Monday, Nov. 2, at Jack Robertson Arena.
The Coyotes will open the season against the University of Mobile (Ala.) junior varsity team at 7:30 p.m. CT, marking an exciting opportunity for the program to begin its campaign in front of the home crowd in Bay Minette. "We haven't opened up the season at home in about eight or nine years, so we are all really looking forward to Nov 2nd," said 11th-year head coach Robby Robertson.
Coastal Alabama - South will look to build momentum following an 8-21 campaign in 2025-26, including a 3-11 record in Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division I play. With a new season ahead, the Coyotes will aim to make strides as they prepare for another competitive schedule against conference and non-conference opponents.
Robertson, who enters his 11th season leading the program, said the team's preparation has been encouraging as the Coyotes work toward opening night.
"Our team has had a productive pre-season training camp so far. The sophomore leadership has been really good, and the young freshmen seem to be getting a little more comfortable with our style of play each and every practice," Robertson said.
The Coyotes will face a quick turnaround after their opener, traveling to Evergreen, Ala., to take on Reid State Tech (Ala.) on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Coastal - South will then return home to host Lurleen B. Wallace Community College (Ala.) on Thursday, Nov. 5, before welcoming the Spring Hill College (Ala.) junior varsity squad on Monday, Nov. 9.
One of the early highlights of the schedule comes Saturday, Nov. 14, when the Coyotes host Coastal Alabama - North at Jack Robertson Arena for the annual sibling rivalry matchup between the two programs.
The November slate also features the Coastal Classic, with Coastal Alabama - South hosting Pearl River Community College (Miss.) on Thursday, Nov. 19, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (Miss.) on Friday, Nov. 20. Both contests will be played in Bay Minette.
The Coyotes will continue their non-conference schedule in December, including a trip to Mobile for the Bishop State Classic on Dec. 17-18. Coastal - South is scheduled to face Southern University - Shreveport (La.) on Dec. 17 before taking on Delgado Community College (La.) on Dec. 18 at the classic.
Conference play will take center stage in January as the Coyotes travel to Shelton State (Ala.) on Jan. 14 before returning home to host Gadsden State (Ala.) on Jan. 18. The conference schedule continues with matchups against Wallace State Community College - Hanceville (Ala.), Bishop State (Ala.), Calhoun (Ala.) and Southern Union State (Ala.).
The Coyotes will close the regular season with a home matchup against Lawson State (Ala.) on Thursday, March 4, at Jack Robertson Arena. The 2026-27 ACCC Division I Men's Basketball Championship Tournament is scheduled to begin Thursday, March 11, in Talladega, Ala., at Talladega College (Ala).
Robertson, the son of NJCAA Hall of Famer and legendary coach Jack Robertson, continues to lead the Coyotes into another season. The program's home venue, Jack Robertson Arena, is named in honor of his father and his lasting impact on basketball at Coastal Alabama.
With a mix of home contests, regional matchups and conference competition ahead, Coastal Alabama - South looks forward to welcoming fans back to Jack Robertson Arena as the Coyotes begin their pursuit of a successful 2026-27 season.
