Box Score JACK ROBERTSON ARENA | BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Men's Basketball fell 104-81 at home to Calhoun Community College (Ala.) on Thursday night, Feb. 19 at Jack Robertson Arena, despite strong individual performances once again from Josh Williams and Makhi Jones.
Josh Williams, coming off a season-best 43-point performance last time out, led the Coyotes offensively with 28 points on Thursday, shooting 9-of-19 from the field and going 10-of-11 from the free throw line. He also added three rebounds, three steals, and a block in 35 minutes of action.
Meanwhile, Makhi Jones turned in an impressive all-around performance with 23 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for a double-double. The sophomore went 8-of-17 from the floor, knocked down two three-pointers, and finished 5-of-6 at the line while playing the full 40 minutes. Like Williams, Jones is coming off a season-best performance last time out, scoring 38 points back on Monday.
Coastal Alabama - South finished the game shooting 28-of-72 (38.9%) from the field and just 3-of-27 (11.1%) from three-point range, while converting 22-of-30 free throws (73.3%). The Coyotes collected 35 rebounds total on the night, including 11 offensive boards.
Tyler Rivers added eight points and four rebounds, while Jaden Champion contributed eight points off the bench. Terrance Adams chipped in five points and four rebounds in limited minutes.
Calhoun's offense proved difficult to slow down throughout the contest, as the visitors surpassed the century mark and used consistent scoring runs to maintain control of the game.
Coastal Alabama - South falls to 7-18 on the year following the loss, with the ACCC record dropping to 2-8 as the regular season continues to wind down.
Headed to Mobile
The 'Yotes are set to travel to Mobile, Ala. for a big conference game against Bishop State (Ala.) next on the schedule, with Monday's contest set for 7:30 p.m. CT.
