BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Coastal Alabama - South Softball continued its late-season surge with a dominant four-game sweep of conference foe Snead State (Ala.) in ACCC Division I action, picking up two road wins in Boaz, Ala. before returning home to celebrate Sophomore Day with a pair of victories, which included a thrilling walk-off comeback in the series finale.
With the sweep, the Coyotes improve to 27-18 overall and 14-10 in conference play, riding a five-game winning streak into the final stretch of the regular season.
Coyotes Break Out the Brooms
Coastal opened the series on the road by rallying late for a 6-5 victory in game one. Trailing 5-2 entering the final two innings, the 'Yotes mounted a clutch comeback behind timely hitting and patience at the plate. Charlotte Lottinger reached base four times with three walks, adding an RBI and two runs scored, while Kaeden Enzor led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish. Brianna Ryan chipped in two hits and two RBIs, and Sydni Carpenter and Riley Dunnam each drove in runs during the comeback effort. Coastal managed to push across four runs across the final two frames to steal the series opener.
The Coyotes followed the comeback win in game one with a commanding 12-0 run-rule win in game two. Coastal - South drew a staggering 10 walks and tallied eight hits in the shutout performance, with Enzor going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Payson Hanson drove in three runs, while Fancy Malone added two RBIs and reached base three times. In the pitcher's circle, Mackenzie Boullon was dominant, tossing a complete-game shutout over five innings, allowing just three hits while striking out two.
Back in Bay Minette two days later, Coastal - South edged Snead State 3-2 in game three behind a standout pitching performance from Sam Daniels. The sophomore right-hander went the distance, allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out six. Brianna Ryan provided the key swing in the first inning with a two-run home run, her third of the season, while Payson Hanson added an RBI double to eventually give the 'Yotes the one-run victory. Following the win, several notable sophomores from the Coastal Alabama - South Softball program were recognized between games as part of Coastal Alabama Community College's annual Sophomore Day celebration.

The series finale delivered the most dramatic moment of the weekend, as the Coyotes rallied from a 6-2 deficit entering the bottom of the sixth inning to secure a 7-6 walk-off victory. Coastal scored three runs in the seventh to complete the comeback, capped by Ava Gradick's game-winning fly ball that resulted in an error, allowing Brianna Ryan to score the decisive run. Ryan finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Hanson added two hits and an RBI. Chloe Krey delivered in a pinch-hit opportunity with an RBI that helped the comeback effort, and Charlotte Lottinger added two hits. Sam Daniels earned her second win from the circle on the day by earning the victory in relief, tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless softball to close out the sweep.
Coastal Alabama - South now carries significant momentum forward into a long stretch of games on the road.

With just eight regular season games remaining during the 2026 campaign, Coastal Alabama - South Softball is set for six consecutive games on the road next on the schedule, beginning Thursday, Apr. 30 in Gadsden, Ala.
The 'Yotes are scheduled to face Gadsden State (Ala.) for four games on the road across Apr. 30 - May 1, with Coastal being awarded as the home team for a pair of contests. Following the four-game series with the Cardinals, Coastal - South will open a four-game set on the road at Wallace State - Hanceville (Ala.) on May 7 before returning home to Bay Minette on May 9.
