BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Five more members of the Coastal Alabama - South Baseball program on the Bay Minette campus will continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions next season, as head coach JD Pruitt announced the latest group of Coyotes to earn opportunities at the next level.
Kennedy Leggett, Andrew Hicks, Tyler DelVecchio, Brooks Womble and Grayson Roberson become the newest members of the Coastal Alabama - South Baseball program to sign with four-year schools, joining eight former Coyotes whose transfers were announced earlier this summer. With the latest additions, 13 student-athletes from the 2026 roster have now earned the opportunity to continue their collegiate baseball careers.
Leggett will continue his career at St. Mary's University of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas, after serving as one of the Coyotes' premier power hitters during the 2026 season. The primary first baseman/designated hitter appeared in 40 games, batting .336 with a .433 on-base percentage and a .621 slugging percentage, which ranked second on the team. Leggett collected 47 hits, including 13 doubles and a team-high-tying nine home runs, while driving in 40 runs to rank second on the squad. He also scored 36 runs and drew 19 walks.
Hicks is headed to Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, Ala. after making 11 appearances on the mound for the Coyotes. The right-handed pitcher logged 16.2 innings while recording 11 strikeouts during the season and averaging 5.94 strikeouts per nine innings.
DelVecchio and Womble will join power program Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida after producing strong offensive campaigns for the 'Yotes in 2026.
For DelVecchio, the corner infielder played in 44 games and hit .281 with a .424 on-base percentage and .489 slugging percentage. He totaled 38 hits, including four doubles and eight home runs, while driving in 32 runs. DelVecchio also showcased outstanding plate discipline by drawing 29 walks and scoring 35 runs.
Meanwhile, Womble appeared in 50 games and batted .284 with a .406 on-base percentage and .457 slugging percentage. The outfielder recorded 46 hits, including 11 doubles, one triple and five home runs, highlighted by a dramatic walk-off home run during Coastal Alabama - South's home finale. He also stole 19 bases, second-most on the team, while scoring 44 runs and collecting 21 RBIs.
Finally, Roberson will continue his collegiate career at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri after serving as one of the Coyotes' most consistent performers throughout the 2026 campaign. The everyday second baseman started all 54 games to lead the team while also pacing the Coyotes with 198 at-bats and a team-best 64 hits. Roberson batted .323 with a .388 on-base percentage and .460 slugging percentage, adding nine doubles, six home runs and 44 RBIs. He also scored 38 runs, drew 20 walks and stole 13 bases.
All four programs are members of the NCAA Division II.
The five additions continue a strong tradition of player development within the Coastal Alabama - South Baseball program, as the Coyotes once again send another talented class of student-athletes to four-year institutions to pursue both their academic and athletic goals.
