Box Score 2 RAINSVILLE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama South Softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to begin conference play in the ACCC on Thursday, March 6, falling 11-10 in game one and 17-16 in game two to the Northeast Alabama Mustangs. The losses snap a 12-game winning streak the Coyotes were riding dating back to February 11, while dropping the overall record to 13-10 during the season and 0-2 in the ACCC.
For Coastal South, the Coyotes managed 11 hits in game one and used a comeback to grab a late lead. However, the Mustangs answered back and took the win away to begin Thursday's two games. Despite the loss, the Coyotes out-hit Northeast Alabama 11-10, with both teams committing two errors.
In game two, Northeast Alabama rattled off 22 hits and 17 runs in the second one-run win of the day for the Mustangs, while Coastal South collected 16 runs off 10 hits. The Coyotes added two errors, while the Mustangs committed three.
Coastal Alabama South Softball Head Coach Mallory Radwitch still sits two wins away from 400 during her head coaching career, with the Coyotes set to return home to Bay Minette next on the schedule.
