BAY MINETTE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Softball team wrapped up the 2026 regular season this past week, falling in all four games of a home-and-home ACCC series against nationally-ranked No. 13 Wallace State - Hanceville (Ala.).

Despite the setbacks, the Coyotes (29-24, 16-16) now turn their attention toward postseason play as Coastal - South enters the 2026 ACCC Division I Softball Championship Tournament as the No. 6 seed. The double-elimination tournament is scheduled for May 14-16 at Veterans Park in Alabaster, Ala.

Coastal - South will open tournament action on Thursday, May 14 against No. 3 seed Shelton State at 12:00 p.m. CT. The winner advances to face No. 2 seed Wallace State - Hanceville later that afternoon at 2:00 p.m. CT in the winners bracket, while the losing team will continue play in the elimination bracket on Friday, May 15.

Regular Season Ends

In the opening game of the regular season finale series at Wallace State - Hanceville on May 7, the 'Yotes dropped a tightly contested 2-1 decision. Sydni Carpenter led the offense by going 2-for-4 with a double and the lone RBI of the contest.

Game two saw Coastal - South battle offensively but fall by a 6-3 final score, despite out-hitting the Lions. Mackenzie Boullon highlighted the Coyotes lineup with a home run and two RBIs while finishing 1-for-3 at the plate. Ava Gradick added a double and scored a run, while Carpenter collected another multi-hit performance by going 2-for-4.

Returning home on May 10 for the final doubleheader of the regular season, Coastal struggled to generate offense in game three as Wallace State completed a 12-0 shutout. The Coyotes were held without a hit, drawing one walk while striking out twice in five innings.

In the regular season finale, Coastal - South showed offensive flashes despite a 12-4 loss in six innings. Charlotte Lottinger paced the Coyotes by finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and stolen base, while Kaeden Enzor also recorded a two-hit performance. Brooke Cooper delivered a pinch-hit RBI double and scored a run, Chloe Krey added a pinch-hit double and scored, and Boullon contributed another extra-base hit with a pinch-hit RBI double.

Now entering postseason competition, the Coyotes will look to regroup and make a run through the ACCC Tournament field beginning Thursday afternoon in Alabaster.
