Box Score 4 BAY MINETTE, Ala. - The Coastal Alabama - South Softball team opened Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) Division I play in dominant fashion, sweeping a four-game home-and-home series against Southern Union State (Ala.) over the weekend. The Coyotes claimed two high-scoring victories at home in Bay Minette by scores 16-9 and 13-8 on Mar. 13 before traveling to Wadley, Ala. the following day to complete the sweep, winning by scores of 3-2 and 11-5.
With the four-game sweep, Coastal - South improves to 16-8 overall and 4-0 in the ACCC, extending the current winning streak to six games.
Series Highlights
The series opened in Bay Minette with an offensive showcase from the Coyotes. Coastal - South erupted for 16 runs in the opener to set the tone of the day, following that with another strong offensive performance in the second game to earn a 13-8 win and complete the home portion of the series sweep. Coastal finished the day with 25 total hits across the two games, with standout performances including Ava Gradick (5-for-7, 6 RBIs) and Brianna Ryan (4-for-7, 4 RBIs).
Traveling to Wadley to finish the series, the Coyotes showed their ability to win in a different fashion. Coastal - South edged Southern Union in a tightly contested 3-2 victory to begin play in Wadley, relying on timely hitting and strong pitching to secure the one-run win. Anna Robin tossed a complete game from the pitcher's circle, allowing just five hits and two runs, while striking out three batters. Sydni Carpenter, Riley Dunnam, and Ava Gradick all notched RBIs in the one-run win.
The 'Yotes then completed the series sweep in the finale, using another productive offensive outing to claim an 11-5 victory and cap off the perfect start to conference play. Brianna Ryan put together a monster game at the plate with three hits and five RBIs, recording her second home of the year in the process. Coastal relied on eight runs across the final two frames to secure the series sweep.
The Coyotes' performance throughout the series featured consistent offensive production and key pitching efforts, assisting in keeping control of the four-game matchup with the Bison and begin ACCC competition undefeated.
ACCC Action Rolls On
With the sweep, the Coyotes carry momentum into the next conference series on the 2026 campaign, scheduled to begin on Thursday, Mar. 19 in Bay Minette. Coastal - South will host Northwest Shoals (Ala.) for two games on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. CT before traveling to Muscle Shoals, Ala. to wrap up the four-game set on Saturday, Mar. 21.
